Keeper of the Lost Cities

Name: Keeper of the Lost Cities
Series Number: Book 1
Author: Shannon Messenger
Genre: Fantasy, of course!

Description: Twelve-year-old Sophie Foster has a secret. She’s a Telepath—someone who hears the thoughts of everyone around her. It’s a talent she’s never known how to explain.

Everything changes the day she meets Fitz, a mysterious boy who appears out of nowhere and also reads minds. She discovers there’s a place she does belong, and that staying with her family will place her in grave danger. In the blink of an eye, Sophie is forced to leave behind everything and start a new life in a place that is vastly different from anything she has ever known.

my point of view: This is a great book for everyone. For fantasy-geeks, romance-cravers, mystery-lovers, and more! And I'm not just talking about girls. I think that even boys would like this book. Even though 488 pages sounds almost impossible to read, I never put this book down. I fell in LOVE with this book. And I think you will, too!

Star-Rating Categories:

1.Fantasy-Level
    *****
Yup! As Fiction as you can get!

2. Good Main Character Personalities and Actions
        ****1/2
Sophie shows a great personality. She tries to do the right thing and follows her heart. Though sometimes she makes a few mistakes that can hurt others, she really means well.

3.Good Morals and Virtues
             ***1/2
Sophie and her friends show friendship by sticking together, and Sophie shows love to her family, and Grady and Edaline when she accepts them even when they did something that hurt her feelings.

Overall I'd give this book an amazing ***** stars!!

I really encourage you to read this book-it's one of the many books that will change your life!

Guardians of Ga'Hoole: The Capture

Name: The Capture
Series: Guardians of Ga'Hoole
Series Number: Book 1
Author: Kathryn Lasky
Genre: Fantasy, of course!

Discription: Soren is born into the forest of Tyto, a tranquil kngdom where the Barn Owls dwell. But evil lurks in the owl world, evil that threatens to shatter Tyto's peace and change the course of Sornen's life forever.

My point of view: This is a great book. It has all the elements for a great adventure. With 27 chapters and a good 219 pages, this is a great start to a suspenseful series.
Yet, many readers stop reading this book because it can be boring. Yes, there are a few dull moments, but the first three books are just basic information. They're the foundation of the series. Once you've set the foundation, the rest of the series is more interesting and suspenseful.
A very good 'Book 1' if you ask me.

Star-Rating categories:

1. Fantasy Level
     ****
Some of it contains bits and pieces of real info. on owls and there is a lot of adventure.

2. Good Main Character Personalities and Actions
    *****
Soren is a really good main character. He has all the ingredients for a hero. Of course, the 'bad guys' don't have good and pure personalities, but most of the main characters do.

3. Good Morals and Virtues Level
    ***
Soren and 'The Band' show friendship, sticking together, and caring about each other.
Soren also cares for his family and the book shows a strong connection between them.

Overal, I'll give this book a good **** 1/2 stars.

Enjoy this book as much as I did!

Ky

Okay........... You might think I overanalize my books, but a good book-reviewer has to be picky about books. I want kids to enjoy books, not run away from them.

I have A LOT of books to review. I can't really organize it-I review whatever I feel like.
